Obesity in America – or slow growing?
According to Wikipedia, obesity is defined as a state in which the natural energy reserve, stored in the fatty tissue of humans and other mammals, is increased to the point where it is linked to certain health conditions and increased mortality. Translation: obesity is not good, but what is worse, not better, but not the worst. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2015 approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700million will be obese. Equally striking was that in 2005 (worldwide), at least 20 million children under five are overweight.
So what is the cause of this monumental change in obesity today, and what are the consequences of obesity are? For all the talk about diet pills, nutritionists, personal trainers and various other measures, it remains a general tendency to consume foods that are high in sugar and fat. Adding to the downward trend in the number ofphysical activity of people engaged in (aka: a sedentary lifestyle) and new trends in transport and the number of hours spent at work, and suddenly the perfect formula for weight.
